Caribbean Archaeology
One of the most exciting, and unexpected, aspects of earning a PhD at the University of Florida were all the opportunities to get involved with Caribbean archaeology. This began in 2005 when Kathleen Deagan allowed me to tag along on one of her final field schools at the Fountain of Youth (8-SJ-31) site in St. Augustine, Florida. You can learn more about this site here.
Nevisian Heritage Project - my introduction to Nevis began in 2007 as an assistant field director for Marco Meniketti's San Jose State University field school. I returned in 2009 with Marco and am currently organizing a field school on the island for summer 2012.
Eluetheran Heritage Project - I recently took a preliminary research trip to Eleuthera, Bahamas. This island boasts remarkable heritage dating from the 1600s until the present. Click the link to read more about my recent trip and the upcoming work Monmouth University is planning on the island.
GIS and Caribbean Archaeology - this page briefly outlines some of the contract work I conducted while living in Florida (2005-2011). This includes working on the Fountain of Youth Site, En Base Saline (Haiti), and most recently at Mission San Luis in Tallahassee, Florida.
I will update this page as well as the Nevis page in the coming weeks with additional informaiton about this summer's field school. So, check back often!
